Tandem by PracticAI

You already know how to do this.

Every good call, every strong brief, every high-stakes conversation where the thinking moved forward — you were doing five things. Tandem gives them a name. Not prompts. Not templates. Five moves.

The FRAME method — 60 minutes. Works with every AI tool you already have.

    The Method

Five moves. One word to carry all of them.

You don't need better prompts. You need a better way to think with the tool. The person is always the actor. The AI responds to what the person brings.

    F

    Frame the situation

Put yourself and your situation into the room before asking anything

This is not context-setting — it is a briefing. The same briefing you would give a smart new colleague who has the skills but not the situation. Who you are, what you're working on, what the friction is, what's at stake. It takes 60 seconds and changes everything that follows.

"If I was briefing a smart colleague on this right now — what would they need to know to actually help me?"

    R

    Result you need

Say what you want to achieve — not what you want done

When you state a task, you constrain the AI to that task. When you state a result, you allow it to find the best path — which is often not the path you would have specified. Intent-first produces output you couldn't have asked for in advance.

"What changes for me if this works?"

    A

    Assert your limits

Say what you don't want and what the limits are

This is the move most people skip — and where most value is lost. Your limits are what make an output right for your specific situation. Your budget, your timeline, your history, what you've already tried, what won't work. Asserting them is an act of expertise, not restriction.

"What would make this output wrong — even if it sounds smart?"

    M

    Move the thinking further

Don't accept the first answer — push the thinking further

The first response is the most likely response — statistically probable, technically correct. It is rarely the most useful. Moving the thinking is not correction. It is dialogue. You are thinking together.

    "What else?"

    • Deepen"Why does that work? What's the logic?"
    • Pressure test"Where does this break? What am I not seeing?"
    • Sharpen"Make this specific to my exact situation."
    • Expand"Take the second idea further."
    E

    Exercise your judgment

You decide if it's good enough — your judgment is the final word

This is not a technical skill. It is a judgment skill — and it's the one FRAME cannot give you. It requires domain expertise and the ability to evaluate output against a standard that lives in your own knowledge and experience. The FRAME method amplifies human judgment. It does not replace it.

"Would I stake my professional reputation on this?"

Tandem is a 60-minute workshop — in person or virtual — for teams that want to work better with AI without learning to prompt engineer. Every participant leaves with something they produced themselves, using a real problem from their own work, that they can act on immediately.

Nothing to install. Nothing to subscribe to. No new language to learn.
